Annual Hunt

News from the Hunt Team

Things are progressing for our annual summer hunt and I think that it is time to update everyone. For

our newer members and for those who have forgotten, our two day hunt will be held at Kozy Oaks

Kamp ground over the weekend of July 12th and 13th. The hunts will be held rain or shine, so come

prepared for any weather. You can camp during these two days, park an R.V, or drive up each of the

two days. If you plan to camp or park an R.V. please make reservations by calling Kozy Oaks at

651.674.8471 (their address is 8620 227th Avenue NE, North Branch, 55056). People driving in each

day should check in with the campground office upon arrival. We ask that all participants observe

Kozy Oaks' regulations. Each day's hunt usually starts at 9:30 am. We usually have a hour or so before

the first hunt to sign-in and have coffee. Everybody will be asked to take turns burying coins for the

hunts. Saturday's events will continue with prize distributions, a potluck meal,

and fellowship, all of which are always enjoyable. Come prepared to have a

great weekend!

Directions Kozy Oaks:

Take 35W or Hwy 61 North to the North Branch Exit (Hwy 95). Turn left

(west). Follow “Camping” signs. Turn left at the intersection of Hwy 13/5.

Follow Hwy 13/5 to County 18. Turn left on County 18 and go until you

reach Kozy Oaks Kamp which will be on your left. Blue camping signs will

direct you and everything is well marked. It is 5 miles from the freeway.

There is only one stop sign and that is at the freeway exit.

Alternate Routes:

Take Hwy 65 North to Hwy 5, then turn right and drive east to Hwy 18,

then turn right again.

The date is set for July 12th & 13th at the Kozy Oaks Kamp near North Branch. Camping is available on site, and some of our members arrive a day early to relax and enjoy the campsite and its facilities. We encourage everyone to attend, whether you are visiting for the weekend, day, or a few hours. We’ll be having a potluck supper Saturday after the hunt, so bring your appetite and a dish to share. We’re working on seven main hunts during the course of the weekend, so you will be sure to have a great time with your fellow members and friends. The hunt fee will be $50 dollars for the weekend. Registration forms are available now and need to be turned in on or before May 15th, or a $10 late fee will be added. Please register as soon as possible, so we can shop around for the right amount of coins needed at the best possible price. Remember we are still collecting donations of coins (preferably obsolete coinage whether it is single coins or rolls, let us know what you have), cash, and gifts to be given away as prizes during the hunt. We will also be bringing a treasure chest to our monthly meetings, so if you have a small coin or treasure to add, you may do so. A lucky person will win the treasure chest during the hunt. We plan on being at all the club meetings prior to the hunt, and available to answer any questions or concerns, and don’t hesitate to contact us at any time. Fred will be helping with the monthly coin raffles, so make sure to get in on winning some nice coins, and at the same time, contributing to the club hunt.
